How to Select a Guard Column

The guard column is installed between injector and analysis column, it is mainly used to protect the analysis column. There are two types guard column: cartridge replaceable type and packing type. The cartridge replaceable type can be used by placing a cartridge guard column inside a holder.

Packed type guard column is packed in a stainless tubing same as an analytical column.

How to Select the Packing Material

We recommend to select a guard column with a same packing material of your analytical column. SILFILTER STD C18 can be used for any type packing material of ODS columns.

How to Select the Dimension

Particle Size: We recommend to select same particle size of packing material of your analytical column.
I.D.: Select I.D. of guard column correspond to your analytical column’s I.D..

How to Connect to Analytical Column

When connecting the guard column to analysis column, connecting parts, such as pipes and connectors, are required in addition. Pre-column couplers and other components are provided as connecting parts.
